This article explains, in general terms, how ambassador payouts work: which methods you might be paid with, how long it takes before a reward becomes payable, and what to do if you think you're missing a payout.
How you get paid
You're paid using whichever payout method the brand you're promoting has set up for their program. Buzzbassador supports three payout methods:
PayPal: paid directly to a PayPal account you connect in your dashboard. See Members: How do I connect my PayPal account?
Tremendous: a third-party payout platform. There's nothing you need to set up in advance: Tremendous payouts go automatically to your Buzzbassador account email, so as long as that email is correct, you can receive a Tremendous payout from day one. See How Paying Rewards with Tremendous Works
Shopify store credit: applied directly to your account at the brand's store, to use on a future purchase. See Members: How to redeem store credit payouts
Not every brand offers every method: check your dashboard's payout settings to see which one applies to your program.
When you get paid
Getting paid happens in two stages:
1. Your reward clears its processing period. When you generate a sale or complete an action that earns you a reward, that reward starts in a "Processing" status. Each brand sets their own processing (or holding) period, typically to protect against refunds, before a reward becomes "Due" and payable. See The Reward Processing Period: How It Works and Why It Matters for more detail.
2. The brand issues your payout. Once a reward is Due, it's ready to be paid, but the brand controls when they actually initiate payment. There's no fixed schedule on Buzzbassador's end for exactly when a Due reward gets paid, no automatic nightly run, no set interval, nothing like that. This isn't Buzzbassador holding things up: PayPal and Tremendous both require the brand to manually log in and click Pay to actually trigger the transfer of funds, since neither payout partner allows a fully automated release. Most brands set an internal reminder (a common pattern is the 1st and 15th of each month) to log in and process due payouts, which usually only takes a couple of clicks. Some brands also use Buzzbassador's account manager service (included on the Plus plan and higher) to have this handled for them.
If you haven't been paid yet
Check your Ambassador Dashboard first. Your Rewards page shows every reward at every stage, Processing, Due, Paid, or Declined, so you can always see exactly where a given reward stands.
If your reward shows as Processing, it hasn't cleared the brand's processing period yet.
If your reward shows as Due but hasn't been paid, the brand hasn't issued the payout yet. Reach out to the brand directly, not Buzzbassador support, since the brand controls payout timing and initiates payment themselves. Buzzbassador is the platform the program runs on: we don't hold or release funds on the brand's behalf.
Note: If your payout is significantly overdue and the brand hasn't responded after you've reached out, contact Buzzbassador support and we can help facilitate.
