How to Pay Rewards with Store Credit

After setting up the Store Credit Integration in Buzzbassador, you can easily pay rewards to your members using store credit. Follow this guide to learn the steps for sending rewards and how members can redeem their store credit.


Step 1: Navigate to the Rewards Interface

  1. Go to the Rewards page in Buzzbassador.

  2. Use the Payment Method Filters at the bottom to see which payout methods are available for each member:

    • PayPal icon: Indicates members who can be paid via PayPal.

    • Shopify icon: Indicates members who can be paid with store credit.

    • If no icons are visible, you can only use a manual payout method (marking rewards as paid).


Step 2: Pay Rewards with Store Credit

  1. Select the rewards you want to pay by clicking the checkbox next to the member(s).

  2. Click the green Pay button.

  3. In the payment options, you’ll now see an option for Pay with Store Credit (in addition to other payout methods like PayPal or Tremendous).

  4. Select Pay with Store Credit and confirm the payment:

    • Review the payment details, including the reward amount and method.

    • Click Send to process the payment.

  5. A success message will confirm the reward is being sent. The reward will initially show as Pending while Shopify processes the store credit. Once completed, it will move to the Paid section.


Step 3: Confirm Payment Success

  1. Go to the Paid section in the Rewards page to see successfully sent rewards.

  2. You can click on a member's profile to view detailed information about the reward, including the store credit amount sent.


Step 4: How Members Redeem Store Credit

  1. Each Buzzbassador member has a corresponding Customer Profile in your Shopify account.

  2. To confirm the store credit:

    • Go to the Customers section in Shopify.

    • Search for the member's email address from their Buzzbassador profile.

    • Open their profile to see the credited store credit amount in the logs.

  3. For members to redeem their store credit:

    • They need to log into their customer account on your Shopify store using the same email address as their Buzzbassador account.

    • Depending on your Shopify configuration, the login option might appear in:

      • The checkout page.

      • A menu item (e.g., bottom or top navigation).

  4. Once logged in, members can apply their store credit:

    • Add items to their cart.

    • During checkout, the store credit option will appear under the Payment Section.

    • If the store credit amount covers the full order, any remaining credit will stay in their account.

    • If it doesn’t cover the full amount, the member can pay the balance using another payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.).
