How To Set Up the Shopify Store Credit Integration

If you'd like to pay your members using the store credit feature in Buzzbassador, follow this step-by-step guide to ensure your account is properly set up and ready to use this feature.


Step 1: Confirm Your Account's Eligibility for Store Credit

  1. Go to the Rewards page in Buzzbassador.

  2. If the Pay with Store Credit button is disabled, it means your account is not yet set up for store credit.

  3. Click the Update Your Store link under the disabled button to access the Integrations page.


Step 2: Upgrade Your Plan

  1. On the Integrations page, locate the Store Credit Shopify Integration section.

  2. If the button next to it says Upgrade, this means your current plan doesn’t support store credit.

    • Upgrade to the Build Plan (or higher) to enable this feature. The Launch Plan does not support store credit.

  3. When upgrading, you'll be redirected to your Shopify account to approve the upgrade.

  4. Once approved, you’ll be redirected back to Buzzbassador.


Step 3: Update Your Shopify Integration

  1. Return to the Rewards page and check if the Pay with Store Credit button is still disabled.

  2. If it is, you’ll need to update your Shopify integration:

    • Click the Update Your Store link again to go to the Integrations page.

    • If the button now says Update, this means you’re on the correct plan but need to refresh the Shopify integration.

  3. Click the Update button, which will redirect you to your Shopify store.

  4. Approve the permissions to view and edit the store credit section in Shopify.

  5. After completing the update, you’ll be redirected back to the Buzzbassador Integrations page. You should now see that no further action is needed under the store credit section.


Step 4: Pay Out Rewards with Store Credit

  1. Go back to the Rewards page or an individual member’s profile.

  2. Locate the reward you want to pay out and select it.

  3. Click the green Pay button. The Pay with Store Credit button should now be enabled.

  4. Click Pay with Store Credit to process the payout.

    • You’ll see a success message confirming the reward is being sent.

    • The reward will initially show as pending while Shopify processes the store credit. Once completed, the reward status will change to success.


By following these steps, you’ll successfully set up and use the store credit feature to pay out rewards to your members in Buzzbassador.
