Understanding the different statuses of campaigns in Buzzbassador is crucial for managing your campaigns effectively. Each status—whether Draft, Scheduled, Active, or Ended—has specific rules about what fields can be edited. These restrictions are designed to protect the experience of your campaign assignees, ensuring clarity and consistency in what is expected from them. Let’s walk through what can and cannot be edited in each campaign status.

Campaign Status Overview

Draft and Scheduled Campaigns

When your campaign is in the Draft or Scheduled status, you have the most flexibility. These campaigns haven’t gone live yet, which means no members have been notified, and you’re free to make any changes without causing confusion.

  • Fields that Can Be Edited:

    • Design Elements: Title, cover photo, description, and terms link.

    • Requirements: Sales goals, tasks, and other campaign requirements.

    • Rewards: The reward amounts and conditions.

    • Assignees: Who is assigned to the campaign

    • Schedule: The start and end dates.

In short, with Draft and Scheduled campaigns, every aspect of the campaign can be adjusted.

Active Campaigns

Once a campaign moves to the Active status, the restrictions begin. At this stage, all assigned members have been notified about the campaign, including its requirements, rewards, and other details. To avoid confusion and ensure fairness, certain fields become locked.

  • Fields that Can Be Edited:

    • Design Elements: Title, cover photo, description, and terms link. These can be updated without altering the campaign's structure.

    • Eligible Products: You can adjust which products are eligible for the campaign, even after it’s active.

    • Assignees: You can add more members, but you cannot remove those who have already been assigned.

  • Fields that Cannot Be Edited:

    • Requirements: Once set, these cannot be changed. For example, if the initial requirement was to generate $100 in sales, you can’t later change it to $200.

    • Rewards: The reward amount promised to assignees cannot be altered after the campaign is active.

    • Start Date: The start date is fixed once the campaign is active.

    • End Date: The end date can only be pushed further into the future. You cannot move it to an earlier date.

These limitations help ensure that assignees have a clear and consistent experience without unexpected changes.

Ended Campaigns

For Ended campaigns, the situation is similar to Active campaigns, but with even fewer options for editing. These are campaigns that have completed their run, and most changes are restricted to preserve the integrity of what the assignees experienced.

  • Fields that Can Be Edited:

    • Design Elements: Title, cover photo, description, and terms link can still be updated.

    • End Date: You can push the end date forward, which effectively restarts the campaign.

  • Fields that Cannot Be Edited:

    • Any changes that would significantly alter the campaign’s requirements, rewards, or assignees are locked to maintain consistency.
