How do I remove someone from a Campaign?

Here's how you can remove an assignee from a Campaign that they're assigned to

Managing the assignees of your campaigns is an important aspect of running successful campaigns in Buzzbassador. Depending on the status of your campaign—whether it’s Draft, Scheduled, Active, or Ended—you may or may not be able to remove assignees. This article will walk you through when and how you can remove assignees based on the campaign's status.

Understanding Assignee Removal by Campaign Status

Active Campaigns

Once a campaign is Active, meaning it has been published and is currently running, you cannot remove assignees. The reason for this is that all assignees have already been notified about their involvement in the campaign, including the details and requirements. Removing them after they've been notified could lead to confusion, as they might attempt to complete tasks for a campaign they are no longer assigned to.

  • Key Point: In Active campaigns, the "Remove" buttons for assignees are grayed out to prevent any changes to the assigned members.

Ended Campaigns

Similarly, assignees cannot be removed from Ended campaigns. These are campaigns where the end date has passed, and the campaign is officially over. Since assignees were already notified and completed their tasks during the campaign, removing them afterward would not be appropriate.

  • Key Point: Ended campaigns maintain a record of all assignees to ensure the history of the campaign is preserved.

Draft Campaigns

For Draft campaigns, the concept of removing assignees is somewhat irrelevant. Draft campaigns have not yet been fully set up, and typically, assignees have not been added. Therefore, there’s no need to remove anyone since the campaign is still in its initial planning stage.

  • Key Point: Draft campaigns generally do not have assignees assigned yet, so removal isn’t necessary.

Scheduled Campaigns

The most flexibility for removing assignees exists with Scheduled campaigns. These are campaigns that have been fully set up and have assignees, but they have not yet gone live. Since no one outside of you, the merchant, knows about the campaign or the assignments, this is the ideal time to make any necessary adjustments.

  • How to Remove Assignees:

    1. Find the Scheduled Campaign: Filter your campaigns to display only those that are scheduled.

    2. View Activity: Click on "View Activity" for the specific campaign.

    3. Remove Assignees: In the activity view, you’ll see a list of all the assignees. Click "Remove" next to the name of the person you want to remove from the campaign.

This process allows you to correct any mistakes before the campaign goes live and notifications are sent out.
