How do I pay members if I don't want to use PayPal?

Want to pay members with Venmo, CashApp, Stripe, ACH/bank transfer, or any other payment method of choice? Here’s how.

Note: We use "Program" and "Member" as label-agnostic terms to refer to any marketing you are using Buzzbassador to facilitate, whether you refer to it as an affiliate program, influencer marketing, ambassador program, referral program, creator partnerships, brand reps, partner program, etc.

As you may know, PayPal is currently the only system we process payouts through inside of the app. However, the use of Buzzbassador is not fully dependent on PayPal. Several of our merchants pay their members outside of the app while still relying on our other functionalities. In other words, merchants will use Buzzbassador for all of its other functions (application form, landing page, emails, order tracking, reward calculations, etc.) but they will handle the payouts externally.

If you have any reason to want to do this instead of utilizing our PayPal integration, the process is quite simple. All you need to do is go to your Due Rewards page, identify the amounts that you need to pay each member, and then pay them externally via your payment method of choice. Then, you can simply mark the rewards as paid in Buzzbassador in order to signify to the member (and for your internal notes) that those rewards have been paid. Again, this will give you and your members the ability to still keep track of generated sales and orders without having to ever use PayPal.

We have made the 'mark as paid' process incredibly easy to do! Here's how 👇

  1. Go to the Rewards page > Due Rewards card

  2. Mark the checkboxes to the left of the rewards

  3. Click the green 'Pay' button

  4. You will see a pop-up button that comes up that says "Pay Externally". Click that button! This will mark the rewards as paid.

And that's it! To confirm that the rewards were marked as paid, you can check the following places:

Rewards Page > Paid

Go to the Rewards page and switch to the 'Paid' section

Click 'View Report' on the 'Success' card

Click 'View Details' on the reward you want to open and you'll see PayPal Transaction ID will indicate "N/A (External Payment)"

Members > Member Profile

When you search for the member's profile from the Members page and click on the member's name, you can also see that the status of the rewards is noted as Success.


Final Note

Our team definitely understands how important it is for you and your brand to send payouts in a snap, using whichever payment method is best for you. We also recognize that our PayPal Payouts integration may not work for every merchant due to geographic or other restrictions. As we continue to develop and release more features, paying members using other payment systems internally will be an option very soon!
