Let's say you just created your ambassador application form, so now you want to see what it looks like from the ambassador's point of view, and make sure all of your questions are working the way you want them to. Here's how you can do that.
How to test the ambassador application form
1. Preview the application form
Once you’ve got your ambassador application form built to your liking, you’ll probably want to preview it to see what it’s going to look like from your ambassador’s perspective. To do that, simply click the “Preview” button on your "Application Form" page. Then you’ll see a new tab appear with your application form that you created. As you can see, both the pre-existing questions and your custom questions appear here, and our app also will populate the logo that you upload in your brand settings at the top of the form.
With this surface-level preview, you can't actually fill it out and submit it. So the next step is to test it by actually submitting it like an ambassador would.
2. Test the application form
There are two crucial things you’ll need to make sure you do in order to test your application form correctly. If you do not do these two things, the testing process will not work correctly, and I’ll explain why in a moment.
Use a new email address
When you create your test ambassador account, you MUST use an email address that is different from the email you used to create your brand’s Buzzbassador account.
Use an incognito or private browser
You MUST test the application process in an incognito or private browser.
Both of these things are crucial because if you do not follow these steps, Buzzbassador will recognize your account and automatically log you in as the brand, which will cause an error in going through the ambassador side of the process.
To test the application, first, you’ll want to get the link to the live application. Navigate to the Ambassador Form page and click on the link located in the top editor menu as shown below.
This will copy the link to the application form to your clipboard, which you can paste into your incognito/private browser.
You can then go through and fill out the questions. Remember, when filling out the form, in the email blank, make sure to use an email address that is NOT linked to your brand’s Buzzbassador account.
Once you enter all of the answers, click “Submit” at the bottom. You will then see a “Congratulations” message. This is the furthest an ambassador can go without being approved. This message lets them know that they should be receiving an email about the status of their application whenever they are approved.
And there you go-- you're done with testing your application form! 🐝
