What to do if you see "code not available to you" or "code isn't valid" when trying to shop with your personal discount code

The brand you are working with in Buzzbassador may have provided a discount code for you to use on your own personal purchases as a perk of being a part of their program.

When you go to use this code at checkout, you may see one of two common error messages. Below, we'll break down each one, what it means, and how to fix it.

1. "Discount code isn't available to you right now"

This is the most common error message that members run into, but don't worry, it's an easy fix.

Why this happens

In order for this code to remain exclusive and only available to members of the brand's program, you have to be verified as an active member in order to use this code. The store will verify you by checking the email address you use at checkout in order to make sure it's the same one you used to join their program.

How to fix it

Check what email address you used to sign up for the brand's program (the same email address you use to log in to your Buzzbassador account) and make sure that's the email address you're using at the brand's checkout.

Please Note

The email verification will only work if you enter your email at checkout FIRST, and THEN enter the discount code.

Step 1: enter your Buzzbassador email as the email address at checkout.

Step 2: enter your discount code in the discount code section and apply it.

Step 3: you should now see that the code is able to be applied successfully!

If you still have issues with the code not working even after confirming that you're using your Buzzbassador email address at checkout, read below for the other common error.

2. "Discount code isn't valid for the items in your cart"

Why this happens

Sometimes, brands will limit which products on their store are eligible for their members to purchase at a discount.

If you see this error when trying to use your discount, and you've already confirmed that you're using the right email, it means that there is at least one item in your cart that is not eligible for using the discount.

How to fix it

Please reach out to the brand you're working with and ask them which items you are able to use your discount for, so you can ensure your cart only includes eligible items.
