If you want your members to make a purchase from your store before being accepted into your program, Buzzbassador has a built-in setting that automates this exact flow. With Auto-Approve Customer Applicants turned on, applicants who place an order using your default program's discount code (with the same email they used on their application) are automatically accepted.
This article covers how the feature works, the requirements for it to function correctly, and how to turn it on.
How it works
1. A prospective member fills out one of your application forms.
2. The applicant places an order on your Shopify store using your default program's discount code, with the same email they entered on the application.
3. Buzzbassador detects the matching email and discount code on the order and automatically accepts the applicant into your default program.
4. The new member receives the "Your application was accepted" email (if enabled), gets a Buzzbassador account, and has their referral code and affiliate link generated.
Requirements for this feature to work
For the auto-approval to trigger, the following must all be true:
1. Your default program's discount code must have its customer eligibility set to "Everyone" so that applicants (who are not yet members) can use the code at checkout.
2. The applicant must use your default program's discount code at checkout. Codes from other program tiers will not trigger the auto-approval.
3. The applicant must use the same email address at checkout that they used on their application. This is how Buzzbassador matches the order to the applicant.
If any of these conditions are not met, the applicant will not be auto-accepted and will remain in your Pending applicants for manual review.
How to turn it on
1. Go to Settings > Preferences.
2. Locate the Auto-Approve Customer Applicants option.
3. Toggle it on.

Auto-approved members go to your default program
This setting always routes auto-approved applicants to your default program, regardless of which form they applied through. Form-level Route To routing is overridden when the auto-approval is triggered through this setting.
If you need auto-approved members to route through their form's Route To setting instead, use the Auto-Approve All Applicants option (covered in the linked article).

What you give up by using this feature
Because there is no manual vetting step, anyone who applies and uses your default program's discount code at checkout will be accepted, regardless of fit. If you care about reviewing who joins your program (for example, vetting their social presence or checking that they fit your brand), this feature is not the right choice; use manual review instead.

Notes:
The Auto-Approve Customer Applicants option is one of two auto-approval settings in Buzzbassador. The other is Auto-Approve All Applicants, which accepts every applicant regardless of whether they purchase.
Both can be used independently or together; for the full picture, see the linked auto-approval article.
