How to delete a program (and what happens after)

Need to delete one of your programs? Here's how. You will also learn about what happens to the members and their referral codes.

Note: We use "Program" and "Member" as label-agnostic terms to refer to any marketing you are using Buzzbassador to facilitate, whether you refer to it as an affiliate program, influencer marketing, ambassador program, referral program, creator partnerships, brand reps, partner program, etc.

If you have created multiple programs, you also have the ability to delete those programs just as easily. To delete a program, just follow the steps below.

  1. Login to your Buzzbassador app

  2. Navigate to the 'Program Setup' page (left side menu > Main Menu tab > Program Setup)

  3. Find the program that you'd like to delete and click on the delete button in its row

  4. You will then be asked to confirm the deletion. At this time, you use the dropdown menu in the pop-up to reassign the members in this program to another existing program.

    By reassigning the members, you prevent them from losing their performance progress and allow them to remain a part of your overall program. The members will also keep their existing referral codes; the codes will just be transferred to the new program's referral rule.

  5. Once you have chosen the a program for the old program's members, all you will need to do is click the 'Confirm' button; this will initiate the deletion of the old program, and a confirmation message will appear:

    And, that's it! Your members will automatically be moved to the program that you have chosen to reassign them into.

    What happens when I reassign the members to a different program?

    The member's referral code will be moved to the new referral rule for their newly assigned program, but their discount code title will remain the same. The new program's discount, referral, and commission rate will all be updated to match the settings of their newly assigned program. The member will only be notified when you switch them to a new program if you have the "Your Program Settings Changed" email automation set to active. Also, when the member logs in to their Buzzbassador account (here), they will be able to see that their perks (reward, discount, and referral rate) have changed.
