Does Buzzbassador Generate Affiliate Links for Members?

Yes. Affiliate links auto-generate for members when enabled, with three types available: BuzzLinks, UTM, or Referral Code Links.

Written by Shelby Baldwin

Yes. Buzzbassador automatically generates an affiliate link for every member in a program where the Affiliate Links section is enabled. Members can access their link from their ambassador dashboard at buzzbassadorapp.com/ambassador-login.

The three link types

When you enable affiliate links on a program, you choose between three link types:

  • BuzzLinks (recommended): a UTM-tagged link that triggers a popup on your storefront, generating a unique single-use discount code for each customer click. Designed for leak prevention.

  • UTM Affiliate Links: a UTM-tagged link that tracks via cookie. An optional auto-apply code sub-setting can apply the member's referral code at checkout.

  • Referral Code Links: a direct link in the format yourstore.com/discount/MEMBERCODE that auto-applies the member's referral code at checkout. Requires referral codes to be enabled on the program.

Each link type has its own attribution mechanics, cookie behavior, and configuration. For the full breakdown, see the linked article.

Programs that do not use affiliate links

If members in a program only share their referral code at checkout (no link), the Affiliate Links section can be toggled off entirely. Members in that program will not have an affiliate link generated.

Notes:

  • The legacy beta affiliate link format (yourstore.com/discount/MEMBERCODE) is now called Referral Code Links and is one of three options.

  • Legacy programs created before BuzzLinks launched were migrated to Referral Code Links by default; you can change the link type at any time in the program editor.
