Social Listening is available on the Plus plan and above. If you're on Launch or Build, you'll need to upgrade before you can connect this integration.
Social Listening lets Buzzbassador automatically monitor Instagram and Facebook for posts that mention, tag, or add your brand as a collaborator. Connecting your accounts is a single flow that covers both platforms at once, here's how to set it up.
Before you start
A few requirements have to be in place before you connect, since Meta requires all of this to authorize the integration:
Your brand's Instagram and Facebook accounts must both be professional accounts (Business or Creator), not personal profiles.
Both accounts must be connected to the same Meta Business asset. Buzzbassador can only connect to one business asset at a time, so if your Instagram and Facebook live under different business assets, you'll need to consolidate them under Meta before connecting.
The person connecting the integration must be logged into the Facebook account that has owner or admin access to that business asset, for both the Instagram and Facebook accounts.
How to connect
1. In Buzzbassador, go to Settings > Integrations, find Meta, and click Connect.
2. You'll be redirected to Facebook to log in. If you're already logged into Facebook but under the wrong account, log out of Facebook first, then try again and log into the account that has owner/admin access to your business assets. There's currently no way to switch accounts mid-flow, you have to log out and back in with the correct one.
3. You'll be asked to select which Facebook Page, Instagram account, and business asset you want Buzzbassador to track. You can only select one of each.
4. Click Approve (or Authorize) to accept the requested permissions.
That's it, this single flow connects both Instagram and Facebook together. There's no separate setup step for each platform.
You don't need to worry about the connection expiring or needing to be refreshed periodically. If you ever run into an issue with the integration, reach out to [email protected], this is a newer integration and Meta doesn't give us a fixed list of error cases to expect, so we troubleshoot these directly as they come up.
Once you're connected, detection is fully automatic, there's nothing further to configure. Head to How Content Tracking Works to see exactly what gets picked up (mentions, tags, and collaborator posts, note that hashtags alone are not tracked) and how matched posts show up in your Content Feed.
