How To Make Changes to Your Subscription Plan

Step-by-step instructions for upgrading or downgrading your Buzzbassador subscription plan, plus what to expect when you change plan tiers.

Written by Shelby Baldwin

Buzzbassador offers multiple subscription plans, each with different feature sets and limits. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from inside your Buzzbassador account; changes take effect after Shopify approves the new subscription fee.

How to change your plan

1. In your Buzzbassador app, go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom left).

2. Click Subscription.

3. Click the Change Plan button.

4. Choose your new plan and click Upgrade (or Downgrade).

5. Approve the new subscription fee in your Shopify account when prompted. Once approved, your new plan is active.

What happens when you upgrade

When you upgrade to a higher plan, the new features unlock immediately after Shopify approves the new charge. Common things that unlock with higher plans include:

  • A higher (or unlimited) limit on active application forms

  • Access to BuzzLinks (the unleakable affiliate link type)

  • Access to the Campaign Suite (Sales Campaigns and Post on Social Campaigns)

  • Access to Social Listening (track your brand mentions on social media)

  • Access to the Klaviyo integration

  • Access to Tremendous for payouts

  • Removal of "Powered by Buzzbassador" branding (Build plan and higher)

What happens when you downgrade

Downgrading is a bigger change because some of your existing setup may exceed the new plan's limits or rely on features that are no longer included. Here is what to expect:

  • Active application forms over the new limit: if your account has more active forms than the new plan allows, Buzzbassador will move the extra forms to Inactive Forms automatically. Your data and configuration on those forms are preserved; you can re-activate any of them if you upgrade again, or rotate which forms are active under the new limit.

  • Programs using BuzzLinks: if you downgrade to a plan that does not include BuzzLinks, programs configured to use BuzzLinks will switch to a different affiliate link type. Members keep their referral codes; the change only affects the affiliate link mechanism.

  • Campaign Suite: if you downgrade off the plan that includes the Campaign Suite, any active Sales Campaigns or Post on Social Campaigns will stop accepting new submissions. Existing data on past campaigns is preserved.

  • "Powered by Buzzbassador" branding: if you downgrade off the Build plan or higher, the branding is re-added to your application form, landing page, and emails.

  • Klaviyo integration: if your new plan does not include Klaviyo, the integration is paused. Re-enable it by upgrading to a plan that includes it.

Member data, sales attribution history, payouts, and program settings are all preserved across plan changes. Downgrading does not delete any of your data.

Compare plans before changing

To see the full list of features and limits across plans, use the plan comparison shown on the Subscription page in your account, or visit the Buzzbassador pricing page on our website. Notes:

  • Subscription changes are billed by Shopify and follow Shopify's billing cycle. If you upgrade mid-billing-period, Shopify typically prorates the charge. If you downgrade, the change usually takes effect at your next billing cycle.

  • Exact billing behavior is controlled by Shopify; for questions about a specific charge, your Shopify billing dashboard is the source of truth.
