By default, your Buzzbassador account has one active referral code at a time for the brand you're working with. That code lives under whichever program (sometimes called a tier) you're currently placed in with that brand.
Why just one code?
You belong to exactly one program at a time for a given brand, and each program has its own referral code setup. Because you can only be in one program at once, you can also only have one active referral code and one affiliate link at a time, no exceptions. Your referral code is tied to that program's discount rate and commission structure, so having a single active code keeps your rate, your commission, and your attribution consistent and easy to track.
If a brand moves you to a different program (for example, from a Nano tier to a Micro tier), your code name generally stays the same, but the discount rate and commission behind it update to match your new program automatically.
When you might want more than one code
There are a couple of common reasons members ask about having multiple codes on one account:
You want a separate code for a specific campaign or promotion, distinct from your everyday referral code.
You work with the same brand across what feels like multiple programs or roles, and want a code for each.
Why the brand can't just set you up with a second code
Buzzbassador can only track one referral code and one affiliate link per member account, this isn't a setting the brand can turn on or configure differently, it's how member accounts and programs are structured. The brand can't place you in two programs at once or give your existing account a second simultaneously-active code.
If the brand wants you to have a genuinely separate, second code, there are only two ways to make that happen:
The brand sets you up with a second, separate member account (usually under a different email), so you'd have two logins and two codes, each tracked independently.
The brand creates a manual discount code directly in Shopify, outside of Buzzbassador, for you to use for that second purpose. Buzzbassador won't track any sales made with that code at all, so the brand would need to track and pay out anything related to it manually.
If you want either of these, reach out directly to the brand, since only they can set it up.
Updating your existing code
If you just want to change the code you already have (not add a second one), you can do that yourself: log in to your ambassador account, go to Settings (from the left menu, the bottom tab bar on mobile, or your profile icon in the top right), click the Referral tab, click the pencil icon next to your current code, type your new code, and click Update code.
If you save a new code but don't see it become active, the brand may not currently have referral codes enabled for your program. Your preference is still saved on your account and will activate automatically if they turn codes on later.
