About the Buzzbassador features you can use to facilitate pre-acceptance purchases from your members

Note: We use "Program" and "Member" as label-agnostic terms to refer to any marketing you are using Buzzbassador to facilitate, whether you refer to it as an affiliate program, influencer marketing, ambassador program, referral program, creator partnerships, brand reps, partner program, etc.

Let's say you want to require your members to make a purchase from your brand before joining. Luckily for you, we have a feature just for this!

With this feature, you can set a condition for applicants to automatically become a member of your program only if they purchase from your brand's store first. So, any applicant who makes a purchase with the discount code of your DEFAULT program tier will be automatically accepted.

Requirements To Use This Feature

  1. Your Default program tier's discount code's customer eligibility settings MUST be set to "Everyone" so that your applicants (not members - yet) can place an order with it.

  2. Since the applicant gets accepted to your Default program tier, they MUST use the discount code for the default tier only

  3. When an applicant places an order with the default tier discount code, they MUST use the same email address that they used on their member application in their checkout information. This is the only way our app can cross-check for purchases from applicants. If the same email address is not used, the purchaser will not be automatically accepted into your program.Here's how to turn it on from within Buzzbassador:

How To Turn This Feature On

  1. Navigate to the 'Settings' page

  2. Go to 'Preferences'

  3. Click the box for 'Automatically Approve Customer Applicants' to turn the feature on.

Now, when someone who has filled out an application for your program places an order from your store and uses your DEFAULT tier's program discount code at checkout, they will be automatically accepted! This is how many merchants who want their members to purchase before joining automate that process.

KEEP IN MIND: You won't have any way to vet the applicants who purchase from you. Whoever applies and purchases with your program discount code will be accepted, and then will immediately receive the "Your application was accepted" email (if it's turned on), have a Buzzbassador account created for them, and have their referral code and affiliate link created -- no matter who they are. Because there is no manual vetting process, if you have multiple program tiers, any auto-accepted members will be added to your DEFAULT program tier.
